Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Fleet Financial Administrator / Trainee to support the financial management of our truck fleet operations. This entry-level role is designed for recent matriculants or current BCom students seeking their first professional experience. You will work hand-in-hand with the Fleet Manager, learning the financial side of fleet operations from the ground up. No prior experience required — comprehensive training provided.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Administration & Data Capture

  • Capture and verify fuel slips, toll receipts, and vehicle expense documentation
  • Maintain accurate mileage and trip records per truck
  • Update vehicle cost sheets with daily expenses (fuel, repairs, tyres, fines)
  • File and organise delivery documentation (PODs, trip sheets, gate passes)
  • Assist with driver advance tracking and petty cash reconciliations

Invoicing Support

  • Prepare draft client invoices from trip sheets and delivery notes
  • Verify rates against client contracts before processing
  • Check Proof of Delivery (POD) completeness and follow up on missing documents
  • Send statements and basic payment reminders to clients (under supervision)

Creditors & Supplier Administration

  • Capture supplier invoices into accounting system (training provided)
  • Match fuel card statements to vehicle logs
  • Prepare payment requisitions for Fleet Manager approval

Basic Bookkeeping & Fleet Costing (Learning Phase)

  • Process daily cashbook entries and petty cash
  • Calculate basic cost-per-kilometer for individual trucks
  • Track monthly fuel consumption vs. budget and compile vehicle expense summaries
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions under supervision

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Matric with Mathematics & Accounting (min 50%)
  • Bilingual: English + Afrikaans or English + isiZulu/Xhosa
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel; willing to learn pivot tables)
  • Valid Code B driver's license or learner's license

Advantageous (Not Required)

  • Currently studying towards BCom (Accounting / Financial Management)
  • Short course in bookkeeping, Pastel, or Sage
  • Any part-time admin or retail experience

Position Overview

L&M Crosslink Logistics seeks a Professional Code 14 Driver with extensive heavy vehicle experience to join our fleet operations. This role requires a disciplined, safety-conscious driver to operate our heavy-duty vehicles across local and cross-border routes. The successful candidate will represent our company at the highest professional standard, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of goods while maintaining exemplary vehicle care and client relationships.

Minimum Requirements

Licensing & Certification

  • Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver's license — minimum 5 years' active experience
  • Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) for goods vehicles
  • Current medical certificate of fitness (not older than 6 months)
  • Valid DGP certificate (advantageous)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years operating heavy commercial vehicles (truck-tractor combinations, super-links)
  • Long-haul and cross-border operations (SADC region advantageous)
  • Vehicle pre-trip inspections and basic defect reporting
  • Refrigerated transport experience (advantageous)

Core Responsibilities

Safe Vehicle Operation

  • Operate Code 14 vehicles in full compliance with National Road Traffic Act
  • Adhere strictly to speed limits, driving hours, and rest period regulations
  • Zero-tolerance approach to alcohol, narcotics, and mobile phone use while driving

Vehicle Care & Documentation

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, trip records, PODs, and waybills
  • Ensure all permits, licenses, and vehicle documents are valid and accessible

Cargo Integrity

  • Verify load integrity at collection and delivery points
  • Report damages, shortages, or discrepancies immediately
  • Ensure correct loading, securing, and weight distribution

Security & Risk Management

  • Adhere to security protocols for high-risk routes and cargo
  • Comply with tracking device requirements and check-in procedures
  • Report suspicious activity and security incidents promptly

Mandatory Documentation at Interview

Valid South African ID or permanent residence permit
Original Code EC license and certified copy
Original valid PrDP
Current medical certificate (not older than 6 months)
Valid police clearance certificate (not older than 6 months)
Minimum 2 contactable employer references (fleet managers / transport supervisors)
